Commemorating Bloody Sunday, 1920 at St Pat’s

Cumann na mBunscol and the GAA president, John Horan, visited our school recently to commemorate past pupil, John William Scott, who was tragically killed at Croke Park on Bloody Sunday, 1920.

We were pleased to accept a beautiful tribute, and are happy that the memory of John William Scott will be immortalised in St Pat’s BNS. Our 5th class pupils did a lot of research into the events of that day and used the old roll books as historical evidence in searching for information about our past pupil.

Santa’s Surprise Visit to St Pat’s!

We were gobsmacked on Thursday morning when Santa showed up unexpectedly to the Junior School yard!

Our Junior Infants, Senior Infants, 1st classes and the Junior Language class happened to be in the right place at the right time to remind Santa of their names and one thing they’re hoping to receive on the 25th!

Our socially distanced ‘meet and greet’ with Santa took place on a beautifully sunny morning and to show our appreciation to Daidí na Nollag (who is so busy this time of year!) St Pat’s made a charitable donation in his honour to the Fr Peter McVerry Trust.

Unfortunately Santa didn’t have time to stay and greet all of our older pupils but he did ensure that all the boys and girls of St Pat’s received a selection box!

Thanks, Santa!

December Updates from St Pat’s

It’s a busy time in St Pat’s at the moment!

The work has started on our new classroom build!

We’re proud to announce we’re officially in a ‘School Zone’!

Our leaf mulch cages are filling up – saving so many leaves from landfill!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…!

(And don’t forget the Parents’ Association Christmas fundraiser is in full swing…you can purchase our fabulous school calendar at http://donorbox.org/st-pats-boys-school-calendar-2021-2022-fundraiser!)

The pupils of St Pat’s have a wonderful sense of community. They’ve made some gorgeous Christmas cards for people who live locally. Thanks to our community Garda who’ll be ensuring their safe delivery in the next couple of weeks!

Stay tuned for further December updates!
