Proclamation Day

One of the main highlights of the Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme is Proclamation Day which was run in schools on Tuesday the 15th of March. Our school, along with all of the other schools in Ireland, raised the Tricolour, read the 1916 Proclamation and listened to some of our pupils reading their own Proclamation for a new generation. Students also added to the day through music, drama, poetry, and art. Students form St. Patrick's College Trad Society helped us mark the day by providing music. Mr. Moriarty read the 1916 Proclamation while our former Taoiseach Mr. Bertie Ahern raised the tri-colour. Mr. Daire Keogh, President of St. Patrick's College was also in attendance. The teachers dressed up in 1916 attire which added to the atmosphere of the day.
